The NAPLAN Test is administered to students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 each year. The National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy gathers information from these tests in order to monitor student progress over time. The data from these test results gives schools and systems the ability to compare their students' achievements against national standards and with student achievement in other States and Territories. Students at Pimpama in Years 3, 5 and 7 will be tested in the areas of Language Conventions, Reading, Writing and Numeracy. Parents and carers can best assist students by making them feel comfortable about the nature and purpose of the tests. Their children can be assured that the assessments will give them an opportunity to show what they have learned in class. Please try to ensure that your child is at school on time on the days of testing, well rested and having had a hearty breakfast. This will ensure that your child can perform at his/her best. The NAPLAN test dates for 2009 are Tuesday 12 May, Wednesday 13 May and Thursday 14 May 2009. Parents will receive information on their child’s performance through an individual report provided to each student for their family.
