Kon'nichiwa!
Students at Pimpama State School, are given weekly Japanese lessons from
Prep-Year 6. Language
learning helps develop strong
cognitive skills, such as a better concept formation, mental flexibility,
multitasking, listening skills and problem-solving. Students are not only
taught the Japanese language but are also exposed to the Japanese culture and
way of life. Since 2016, our school has
had a strong relationship with our sister school Hesaka Elementary School in
Hiroshima city. We also host exchange students
from two different Japanese schools; Tama Meguro Junior High School in
Tokyo and Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High School in Kyoto, which
enables our students to forge long lasting friendships with people from another
country and gives them the opportunity to practice the Japanese language.
